Hello all, just found your forum after wandering around Google, searching for information on 1971 options and packages. I have a 1971 F-250 Sport Custom, which I picked up for $1600 last June. When I first got it, its Holley two barrel was so gunked up and poorly tuned it could barely run without flooding. A thorough cleaning, and its given me thousands of miles of completely trouble free driving. It doesn't even have any leaks! Every light, knob, switch and gauge works as it should, which is remarkable given the fact its an unrestored truck from the Last Frontier. It was clearly loved for much of its life. It has a bit of rust, but nothing catastrophic, and otherwise the body is straight. No major dings or dents, and every piece of trim is accounted for, right down to all four hubcaps.
I'm in love with this truck, and hope to do a full cosmetic restoration over time (and as funds allow). As you can see from my signature list, I have quite a few other older Fords. All F-Series trucks and Tempo compacts, all in mechanically sound shape. I've included a shot of my daily driver F-150, a "bricknose" 1990 XLT Lariat. I've had it for 9 years and almost 100,000 miles (its about ready to roll over to 200k).
She has 188,000 miles on her with the original 3-speed automatic transmission. The 360 FE was rebuilt at some point with '68 heads, a Holley carb, but otherwise stock. She is a 2WD truck, so no mudding for this machine.
